27 Federative Units, Belo Horizonte
is its capital.
The State is home to an important architectural and artistic collection of the Brazilian colonial period, preserved in world-famous places such as Ouro Preto, Diamantina and São João Del Rei, part of the Estrada Real. (During ICE2020 participants will have the opportunity to visit Ouro Preto.)
To cross the Estrada Real is to live the culture of Minas Gerais. In its 1630 km route, more than 115 cities can be visited on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by car, and include attractions surrounded by nature, culture and art.
The Serra da Canastra National Park is one of the main attractions of Minas Gerais. With its lush waterfalls and diverse flora and fauna, it attracts lovers of sports such as trekking and climbing.
